SUSTAINABILITY
Korten actively promote responsibility for the environment within the organisation. We do re-use as many items as possible. Not only resulting in cost savings to the client, but also reducing waste. Therefore, the initial stand design chosen should, ideally incorporate many components with multi-use properties. Particularly floor substrates, (which are made from recycled materials), desks, plinths and show cases etc.
We use water-based paints for all structures, eliminating the need for laminates and adhesives. These units can then be resprayed and re-used with the minimum of waste.
One design can easily be transformed by a combination of structure reconfiguration and new graphics.
Internally, we heat our entire building with disposed of construction components.
We recycle metal work, acrylic and glass.
Established in 1960, when the use of exhibitions was becoming important in business marketing, Korten was one of the first companies to specialise in the exhibition market and focus on the customer’s needs for combining creative design and professional craftsmanship under one roof.
Korten are based in a self contained industrial unit of 17500 square feet, in St. Ives, near Cambridge. Customers, existing and new are always encouraged to visit this ‘one stop shop’ and discuss their projects, talk to key members of Kortens’ team and to see the different disciplines in action.
